The most common of the SEO mistakes on the list is no Meta Tags. Meta tags tell search engine bots what your website and content are about. If it is not there then do not bother. Claims that Meta tags are the answer to all your SEO problems are no longer a part of the public’s opinion.
Meta tags are one of the tags that can be added into HTML. It is what you see on the link pages, or in the Google webmasters tool, and other Meta tags.

Here are ten Meta tags you should have in your head to avoid making any SEO mistakes.
1. Title Tag
Google thinks that your title tag is the most important of the bunch and so the one thing you want to include in your Meta tag. If your title tag isn’t keyword-focused and more general it will dilute your keyphrases and means.

The keywords tag is also important and should include your main keyphrases. There are two ways to do this, Either you include them in your head section using the following format:

The description tag is another important tag, place your main keywords towards the beginning of the sentence and include a compelling and eye-catching sentence about your site. 4. Keyword Tag
The keyword tag is the place to place your main keywords. Remember not to overdo it and stuff as many in there. I would recommend using no more than 3 keywords in there.

The heading tag is just as important as the title tag as this will show the search engines what the page is about. The heading tags have the following codes

I would remind you to use your headings in the H1 and H2 heading tags, most importantly the ones placed in the H1 heading tag.

These tags were designed for the search engine robots, by using the keywords. By using keywords in the tags, you are not only building your site for the robots, but also for the visitors. You will know your content well! You will write your text accordingly, and so will your readers.
